Dong Nguyen grew up in Vietnam and used to like playing Super Mario. At 16, he started learning to code.
Later, as a young man, he wrote Flappy Bird over a weekend.
Before long, in-game advertising was earning him $50,000 per day.
Per day.
Flappy Bird is a great example how even a simple idea and a weekend of coding can sometimes make you millions of dollars and a coding celebrity.
It doesn't happen for everybody, but it did for Dong Nguyen. But it wouldn't have if he hadn't taught himself to code.
