Maybe you "made your own blocks" in Scratch.

Making Blocks is a very powerful feature of Scratch because it lets you wrap up pieces of code, give them a name, then use them elsewhere in your program.

If you never did this in Scratch, that's ok. But next time you're using Scratch, explore "My Blocks" and understand how useful it is.
